Cats LOVE Yarn Balls

So I am in the habit of leaving my knitting on the table next to my recliner. I knit while watching TV late at night. I find it relaxing.

Last weekend DH and I were awaken by a thunderous clatter from the kitchen. We race out only to find the cats had gleefully knocked my sock loom (attached to a fun - rolly yarn ball) down the stairs into the basement. The sock loom is broken. DH is going to fix it for me, but the pair of socks of unknown pattern are currently no more. I was over an inch into a sock. ::frowny face::

So I put the yarn balls away for now. I can no longer trust them to my furballs who can't contain themselves and the feline joy a yarn ball brings.

Late Summer Sephira Update!

You can now find Warrior's Blood Red in paperback, kindle, and pdf e-book available for purchase! Thanks to all my fans who've been so patient. You're very loved! Those readers who were promised a free copy - contact me with your current mailing address. You can find the first book in the series, Left Horse Black at Lulu or Amazon.
Okay - now about the "Secret Project" I eluded to at the beginning of the year. I was a sample sock knitter for Isela Phelps' new book about Loom Knitting Socks! Pre-order a copy by clicking here! It's a great book. I knit up the Braid Cable Socks sample. Beautiful pattern. They turned out really pretty. All loom knitters MUST get this book!
Right now On The Looms I've got:
  • 1 Lapghan
  • 1 Pair of Socks
On the needles I currently have:
  • Rib Eyelet Scarf
  • Steph's Sweater
Other crafty things I'm working on:
  • Elemental Ritual Chamber Banners (embroidery)
Writing Projects (status):
  • The Guide (closer to getting done - over 450 pages and not yet indexed)
  • KRB - Still slacking on this one.
  • Eagle's Talon Gray (aka ETG) - 1/2 written - first draft
  • Outer Darkness (aka OD) - Outlining
So that's what I've got going on. Feel free to share your own projects!

Seriously -- I've Been Busy...

You can learn more by reading my daily life blog.

I really am doing all I can to get all my writing projects moving forward. And they are -- just VERY slowly.

Same with knitting and my other projects.

Update

I figured I've been slacking, so it's time for an update.

Projects Currently Being Worked On:
- WBR Edit
- DM Book
- Rib Eyelet Scarf
- Socks - still haven't decided on a pattern yet. Right now I'm making the cuff.
- Sweater - still on second sleeve.

I've been slowly working on knitting in front of the TV. The writing has been left to Sundays. Too much to do - not enough time. :)

The Plan of Action

Warrior's Blood Red. I am through chapter 10 of the galley. Only 30-some-odd chapters to go. :) It's coming - it's coming!

While taking breaks and watching TV I'll be working on my fingerless mitts. We're in for some cold ahead yet this winter and I want warm hands here in the office. I'm about 1/4 through the second mitt.

The Secret Project -- done and mailed as of yesterday afternoon. Awesome. :)

My Socks of Unkown Pattern --- I might take a brief sock break for now...

The DM book -- still plugging away.

Anything else, at this point, is on the back burner or will be one of those in-between projects that I work on when I need a break from the writing.

Home Stretch

I should be done with the "secret" project either tonight or tomorrow night. I can get it into the mail hopefully by Saturday. Yay! And I learned something new by doing this project so I've gotten a great deal from it. I'm so happy. I'm very pleased with the results and hope the designer loves the sample as much as I do.

Next I need to start creating a plan of action to get myself in gear on WBR. Perhaps I'll create the plan Sunday and begin enacting it immediately.

One Down - One to Go

I'm done with one and I'm getting self conscious. I can see every imperfect stitch (even though there is only one noticable wonky one and it fell in the ribbing) - and feel I could have grafted the toe better. But it's still pretty and I think it turned out nice. I do want to make myself a pair of these at some point.

Now onto #2. I don't know if I can finish it by the weekend, but at least by the middle of next week for sure. Yay!

I'd say more and be more specific - but then I'd have to kill you....
